Club Med is a French corporation made up of vacation resorts in some of the most exotic places around the world. Club Med are often credited with being the first all-inclusive resorts. The club was started in 1950 by Gérard Blitz and first featured in Spain. As of 2010, they manage 80 villages around the world including Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.
Each resort offers packages that include a list of services and activities. Services include accommodation, food, the use of the facilities, games and entertainment. Most of the villages now include alcohol as well.
The majority of the resorts are designed for children and families. They have clubs that provide activities and supervision for the kids called Baby, Petit, Mini and junior clubs. They also cater for kids up to the age of 17 with special hang out spaces.
The villages are split into 3 different types. Family resorts have clubs for children and offer leisure activities and are open to all. There are also resorts everyone which have no clubs for the children but they welcome everyone. Then there are the resorts for adults only which is 18 and above and they offer entertainment and activities for singles and couples.

The Club Med Pass Card
This card gives you the opportunity to pay for extras that you purchase at the resorts. It is available at most of the Club Med Ski resorts.
Weather
Club Med strive to keep their clients informed and equiped with as much usefull information as possible about the weather at each resort.
Valuables
We recommend that you do not leave valuables such as IDs, pass ports and jewellry in the rooms. They will not be held responsible if anything goes missing. The rooms are equiped with safes and there is also a main safe in the resort.
Smoking
All public and indoor areas at all the Club Med resorts are designated non-smonking areas, as per the legislation. It is strongly advised that you do not smoke in your rooms for safety resons.
Paying for your Resort expenses
Accounts must be settled before guests leave the resort. Cheques are not accepted. In some resorts, there is the option of 'Express departure'. This option allows you to simply fill out a form with your credit card details. The form can then be placed in an envelope with your deposit card and room keys and dopped of at reception. Club Med assures you that all the security meausures are taken in order to ensure you that your credit card details are safe. An account statement, a card transaction receipt and the corrosponding bill will be sent via the post to the address on the form. Please note: tipping in Club Med resorts does not exist.
Pets
Club Med does not allow pets. Guide dogs for the blind will be admitted provided they are accepted for travel by the airlines and provided there is no quarintine period.
Minors
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the whole duration of their stay. Children travelling with adults other than their parents/gardians will need written consent from their parents/gardians as well as written consent from the adults they are travelling with. These documents are required within 14 days of the booking being made. The authorisation should be signed 'Parental Authorisation Form'
Holiday in an international Environment
Club Med, whilst a french company, is today a global organisation with guests coming from all over the world. Club med has multi-lingual staff that speak a variety of languages. The resorts are generally mostly french speaking.
